It’s almost here! One of the most viewed sports broadcasts in American history, the NFL Superbowl! This long awaited sports event has millions of people across the globe on the edge of their seat to see which team will be crowned the 2018-19 world champs of the National Football League. For those who have been keeping up with the games, we had a very controversial playoff season. The most notable game of the playoffs would be the Rams vs. New Orleans Saints. The game ended up in overtime, with the Rams clinching the game to win 26-23 against the Saints. The young coach Sean McVay has undoubtedly had a record breaking season, but a lot of fans don’t believe the Rams earned the victory.
Quick Recap
The Rams victory was attributed to a record 57-yard field goal, the longest game winning field goal in history for the NFL playoffs. However, prior to the game winning field goal, the Saints were in a place to take the championship spot. In the fourth quarter of the game, Drew Brees threw a long pass to Tommylee Lewis who was interfered with by Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman. In replay tapes you can see three referees within line of sight of the play, but none called pass interference on the play. While we aren’t here to say what did or didn’t happen, and whether the play was valid or not, we know this was a disappointing end to the season for Saints fans across the globe.
Despite the end of the season for the New Orleans Saints, the Rams are now on their way to their first Superbowl in 18 years. The Rams will face off against the New England Patriots, who have been Superbowl contenders four times in the past seven years, with two Superbowl victories during that time. With so many appearances in the playoffs and superbowls in the past 10 years, many would like to see the Rams dethrone the dominant Patriots. Regarding Superbowl LIII, the most we can all hope for is a great game and some good sportsmanship. We’ll find out Sunday February 3rd!
Regarding Your Carpets…
Right, now that we’ve successfully recapped, it’s time to talk about hosting your Superbowl party. Hosting parties is always a great time, and as gracious hosts you’ll want to show off how game-ready your place is to your guests. A great way to impress on game day is to ready your carpets. The game is scheduled for 3:30pm on Superbowl Sunday, which means we’ll still have plenty of daylight left. Natural light is unfortunately a great way to showcase any unwanted stains and grime in your carpets. Start by vacuuming each room of the house, including hallways, bedrooms, and especially high-traffic areas like living rooms and entrances to the home. And don’t forget the kitchen!
Once the house is sufficiently vacuumed and clear of clutter, now is the time to call your local carpet cleaning professionals for that high-quality deep clean. This will bring out the natural color in your carpets, making them look like new, and will also help eliminate any unwanted musky odors that may be trapped in your carpets. After getting your carpets professionally cleaned, you’ll want to keep your home well ventilated to encourage your carpets to dry completely prior to your party.
Superbowl parties are usually chock full of snacks and beverages being squeezed onto a crowded coffee table in front of the main TV. This can encourage spillage, and can result in new stains on your freshly cleaned, beautiful carpets. Stains are not something we want to be worrying about when a crucial play is about to be made. The best way to mitigate the superbowl damage to your carpets is to put down rugs in the areas of the home where high-traffic will be expected. Not only will this add some pop and color to your home, it will protect your beautifully manicured carpets from damaging spills.
Another way to help prevent further dirt and grime from getting onto your carpets during game day is to institute a “no shoes” policy. This will keep dirt and dust contained near entrances of the home, and allow your guests to feel comfy and cozy in your home on your fresh, clean carpets.
Here at Clean Earth Restorations, we want to give your Superbowl party that extra charm by making your carpets so fresh and so clean. To get the party started and to schedule a professional carpet cleaning, give us a call at 619-284-4239, or contact us at cleanearthrestorations.com.
