Bio-Recovery, the work of cleaning up and disenfecting crime and trauma scenes or the scene of a death (human or animal), is not a widely known industry. Most people would never think about bio recovery, until they have an urgent sitation and they need help.
There are many misunderstandings about bio-recovery. At Clean Earth Restorations, we have undergone the training to provide bio-recovery, crime scene clean up and death scene clean up services. To better understand the industry, it’s important to debunk some of the myths.
Here are a few myths:
Myth #1 – Bleach is all you need
While bleach is a disenfectant, it is a poor first choice for bio-recovery. Diluted bleach will lose it’s power and shelf life quickly and can cause damage to surfaces. Certified bio-recovery specialists know the best ways to disinfect to eliminate the threat that blood borne pathogens can create.
Myth #2 – The Police will clean up the crime or trauma scene
Again, most people aren’t going to think about clean up until the need help. The general public, for the most part, still believes that if there is a crime or death scene that needs cleaning up the police will take care of it. This is not the case.
